  1. In my first poem, I put eraser in the combination of hiragana and katagana for the reason it is composed so, in addition I want emphasize this word as it is more right angular in its shape for eye catching.

The second use of report in katagana as it is a loanword, the reason I choose it is because here in the u.s., the homework is often in the form of report. I want stress the American culture in my poem to present my graduate life in foreign countries.

The third usage of Christmas is also a loanword to stress the important timing. Present in katagana is used to emphasize the western culture exchange small tokens in this cold season with warm heart.

  2. I think your first senryuu is really cute and thought-provoking. love it.

The second one is personal and got me chuckling. love it.

Comparing to the first two, the third one is a bit confusing. What present? Whose present?

  3. Great job! I really like your combination of Hiragana and Katakana. Particularly after reading your explanations as to why you chose to write certain words in each script, you really give the reader a lot to think about in each poem.

  4. Nice senryu! Personally I think it can be better that if you change the last line of the first senryu to を消(け)しする... ^ ^
